DPM Metals Announces Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Decision
TORONTO, Oct. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DPM Metals Inc. (TSX: DPM, ASX: DPM) (ARBN: 689370894) (“DPM” or “the Company”) announced that, on September 30, 2026, the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the “Court”) published its full decision on the outcome of the constitutional dispute between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning the authority of the Federation, cantonal and municipal bodies to adopt or enter into certain acts reflecting state-owned forests and forestry land, including the Concession Agreement and its annexes for the Vareš operation. The Court’s decision does not terminate or suspend the Concession Agreement or any of its annexes. DPM’s operations at Vareš continue to operate as normal.
The Court has set a period of six months for the relevant authorities, together with the Attorney General’s Office, to review the challenged acts and take the necessary steps to bring the matter into conformity and set aside those acts that are found to not comply with the Law on the Temporary Prohibition of Disposal of State Property. DPM intends to engage constructively with the Attorney General and the relevant authorities throughout this process.
This constitutional dispute relates to state owned forests and forest land in Bosnia and Herzegovina and forms part of a broader issue affecting a number of large concession-based investments in the country. The Court found that certain acts, including DPM’s Concession Agreement No. 04-18-21389-1/13 dated March 12, 2013 and Annexes I through VI, together with the related decisions of relevant authorities concerning forest land conversion and easement rights, were not in conformity with Articles I(2) and III(3)(b) of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the relevant Federation, cantonal and municipal authorities did not have the authority to deal with such property contrary to the Law on the Temporary Prohibition of Disposal of State Property and without the involvement of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its Attorney General’s Office. The Court’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.
The Vareš operation employs more than 600 people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, has invested significantly in safety programs, training and leadership development, and is the top exporter in the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
